Lavender Bunched

white laced frills lavender bunched

skies echo lilac

schematic dreams to travel

rising weaves pink and purple

subtleties of nuance

naming hearts choices

weighing conditions agonizingly

combines cultural capitals validation

double edged tapestried wafting weft

keeping thoughts locked in silence

  6. I really like the way you wrote this, the words go well and it's enjoyable to read.

Suppression of self, tied up in a bunch, not shared, thoughts locked -- the whole feels like a sort of soft prison or a saferoom, depending on how it is looked at, I think.

  8. Fashion is so difficult to write about well. I really enjoyed the way you describe the dress in its finest details. This is offset in a great way by the ending, which makes a great contrast, reminding that there's a person beneath the finery. Excellent.

  11. A thought provoking notion...to make those choices, but sometimes unable to enact them because of the strictures of society...and I do like the way you weave this into consciousness through fashion...fashion...which is often so reflective of our thinking and emotions. I do like this alot, Lib :) Excelsior!

  14. Until the last line, I thought you were describing the look of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. All the texture, color and hats are there - maybe it was just a dream of travel to places even more exotic? Lovely though and dream-like.

    1. am happy with that Gay, yes the textures and color and yes perhaps the Queen herself would have liked a different lifestyle - but her choice was very limited apart from abdication - very insightful - thanks so much Gay - Hgs Lib
